Devlog 3: PIPES! (...and other things)


Welcome once again to our semi-regular progress update! We have continued building the basic systems of the game, and we hope to start building up the game design-wise soon.

For now, this new build includes the following features:


  • Pipes! We have implemented a pipe system for the transportation of materials from machines to the hub or other machines. In other words, players can now actually build the transportation system for their factories.
    • Additionally, a progressive temperature change system has been added to materials, so that they change states when traveling through different temperature regions. When a material is close to changing, it will change color to give some feedback to the player.
  • Hub! We have implemented a central hub, which will manage the resources the players can use to build things, and carrying things to it will be part of the victory conditions.
    • Additionally, a ui system has been added to allow players to see the resource stores within the hub by holding the I key.
  • Animations! We have added idle and walking animations to our characters, so that they're not just standing there all the time.
  • Destruction! We added the ability to delete the things the built by the player, so now you don't have to keep the mistakes you made.
